Three things I believe about food and photography
1. Two strangers, with nothing in common, will create a bond over a good meal. The sensory experience of food breaks down barriers and calms arguments with sounds of munching.
2. Food deserves honesty. When the photo of a frozen dinner is so manicured that the home product looks nothing like the box's picture, that's lying to the consumer in order to sell a sub-par product. Organic, fresh ingredients taste better, look better, and create a better environment for the future. The dishes created with these ingredients can be photographed honestly and, therefore, the photos do not lie.
3. Food is an adventure and documenting it is my greatest pleasure. Sometimes food takes you to a sketchy part of Los Angeles so you can experience the best pastrami sandwich. Sometimes food leaves you stone still in your seat munching away in extreme happiness. And sometimes food takes you back to fond memories you'd almost forgotten.
