As the Summer Artist in Residence at the
Altadena Farmers' Market,
I've been working on a project that combines all of my favorite things.
To help promote the farmers and their ingredients the market manager
Joseph Shuldiner (of the
Institute of Dometic Technology)
devised this plan. Instead of creating a seasonal bi-weekly zine as I'd
originally intended we created these fun recipe cards and photo card
advertisements.
The consumer is helped in their cooking process,
the ingredients sales increase and the farmer reaps the profit. Not to
mention the market sees more return costumers because consumers want to
see what new recipe is on the market cul-de-sac this week.
It's a
complete win-win-win situation for everyone involved and I get to do
what I love more. Photography, design, writing, recipe development and
marketing — all rolled into one! Well, how about that!
